課程目標
工程相關的資料不斷的增加,透過視覺化的技術,可讓工程決策人員更容易理解、記憶並在複雜的工程條件中,做出正確的決策。透過視覺化的技術也可幫助不同背景的工程人員溝通,以達良好的設計與分析結果。這門課會探討各類視覺化的技術與演算法,以及背後的圖形設計、視覺藝術、視覺心理以及認知心理的課題。本課程為小班教學,學生必須在課堂上積極參與討論,並必須完成數項作業以及針對學期實作專案。
Course Description
Increasing amounts of data are required for engineering purposes. Visualization may provide a cognitively affordable way to improve comprehension, memory, and decision-making in a complex environment. Visual representations also help engage more diverse audiences in the process of design/analytic thinking. In this course we will study techniques and algorithms for creating effective visualizations based on principles from graphic design, visual art, perceptual psychology, and cognitive science. In addition to participating in class discussions, students will have to complete several short programming and data analysis assignments as well as a final project.
